About New China Restaurant
New China Restaurant is a chinese restaurant in Schenectady, New York. It is listed at 1334 Gerling St, Schenectady, NY 12308, which places it among the local businesses of Schenectady that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Schenectady; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in New York are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. The most common schedule is 10:45 amโ10 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (518) 346-3141. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, newchinarestaurantmenu.com.

Schenectady is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Schenectady follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I ordered Bean Curd with Mixed Vegetable and asked for the bean curd to be cooked "crispy" which has a hard, crunchy crust and chewy inside. Instead I got "mushy" tofu that was wet, soft and breaks apart easily. I was dissatisfied and while at the counter I asked to return the Bean Curd and ordered the Sautรฉed Mixed Vegetable. When eaten at home, the Vegetable Fried Rice that I bought was excessively oily and tasted greasy. The Sautรฉed Mixed Vegetable was a watery soup, over drowned by too much sauce and the Vegetable Spring Roll was so narrow that its tiny diameter was like the size of two drinking straws placed side by side. You didn't get enough food because the Roll was just too tiny. A total rip off! The food I ordered was poorly prepared and tasted terrible.

My boss ordered pork fried rice and fried chicken wings for me from this location. My rice was completely under cooked. When I called the place to inform them of their poorly cooked rice. The gentleman that answered the phone basically brushed me off. Didn't flinch a eye when I said we will probably not be likely to order again. He was unbothered. Unfortunately we spend good money wherever we order from simply because it's multiple people eating we could easily spend 50 plus bucks. I tossed the menu in the trash. I almost wanted to bring trash meal back and give to them. So they could see i only took 2 bites of the rice ate no chicken. I wouldn't even expect a refund. Just to show them how bad their food sucks. The problem is they Didn't even care. And for that they will miss out on future potential $$. And I'm fine with that. I'm probably just gonna through the food in the trash when I get home. I skipped lunch today because of their trash food๐๐

I placed my order on Mealeo so I have nothing to say about thier customer service. Though the delivery was super fast and the driver was nice. This is the 1st time I have ordered frim New China. When I order from a place the 1st time I always order the sweet and sour chicken. It's a super basic meal. Pros of the meal: Chicken tasted good with and without the sauce. The sauce was good also. The Egg Roll was yummy. The Wonton Soup was a pint and they gave me 5 wontons which is more that most places give you. It was flavorful. I asked for chopsticks and they did provide it. Cons of the meal: the rice was dry. After I put a packet of soy sauce on it, it was very tasty. I ordered the shanghi spring roll and it was a bit mushy inside. Not sure if that is normal but I've never had a spring roll be mushy. I also ordered a soda and asked for orange or grape but they sent a sprite. I will probably give New China a second change next time I crave chinese food. I will give a beef dish a try and will update when I do.
